Overworld: Unable to Start an Encounter [Error: 400]

Issue:

In some rare cases, you may encounter an issue where, after initiating a fight in the Overworld, an error message appears: ERROR 400: Collection did not return a match for, preventing you from proceeding further.

This happens because, in certain situations, your Pistol and/or Jumpsuit become unequipped from your Team — however, both items are required to start an encounter.

Solution:

First, try reopening the game. You will be placed back in the same fight, and your next attempt may start without issues.

If that doesn’t work, follow the steps below to re-equip the pistol and jumpsuit to your Team.

In the top-left corner, you will see a button to leave the encounter.

Travel back to Sanctum Mesa

While in Sanctum Mesa, open your Team view (press Z)

Open the inventory (press I) and navigate to:

• If unequipped, drag the basic Jumpsuit and Pistol into the empty slots in your Team, as shown in the screenshot below.
