This page outlines the IPL – Illuvium Pro League Structure for 2025.
Competitive efforts during the season, which began in August, will contribute to qualifying for the World Championship in early December. You can find the schedule here.

Seeding
For the “Best of” and Swiss Format
- For the first round the highest rated players should be matched versus the lowest ranking players via “snake seeding”
- To determine the ranking of players for seeding, the most applicable metric will be taken:
- World Championship: IPL>Wildcards>Final Call
- All other Tournaments: Current Ranked Leaderboard Rank
- This might change in the future if the Tournament Platform supports IPL Points based seeding.
- For all other rounds: re-seed by current event record and pair high-to-low (snake), so winners face losers (top vs bottom), avoiding rematches wherever possible.
Check-in & Qualified Player Replacements
- Check-in is required 60–30 minutes prior to the event start time.
- If qualified players have not checked in via the tournament page (DataKingz), the organizer will begin replacing them 30 minutes before the event starts. (pre-tournament substitute)
- Qualified players who miss check-in and are late are not guaranteed a spot. At admin discretion, they may be placed only if openings remain.
- If players drop out between tournament phases, their spots may be filled by the next-in-line players at the discretion of the organizers. (in-tournament substitute)
- Players cannot choose their own replacements.
Pre-Tournament Replacements
- For tournaments with Sit & Go qualifiers, pre-tournament substitutes will be taken from the Sit & Go leaderboard.
- For tournaments without an open qualifier, pre-tournament substitutes will come from the IPL Leaderboard.
Tiebreaker Rules
- Average Placement
The player with the better average placement across all games in the series wins. - Highest Placement
If average placement is tied, the player with the highest single-game finish in the series wins. - Most highest Placements
If the highest placement is tied, the player with the greater number of those top finishes in the series wins. - Most Recent Game
If still tied, the player with the better placement in the most recent game of the series wins. - Ranked Ranking
If still tied, the player with the higher rank in the current Ranked leaderboard wins. - Coin Flip
If Ranked leaderboard rank is tied, a coin flip will decide the outcome.
Rules & Admin Policy
General Authority
- Tournament Admins may disqualify any participant at any time if they do not comply with the rules.
- All admin decisions during an event are final and may not be disputed during the tournament.
- Admins will apply this document wherever possible, but may act outside it when fairness or unforeseen circumstances require.
- Illuvium and the organizers reserve the right to disqualify players from future events for repeated or severe misconduct.
Code of Conduct
Account Use
- One registered account per player.
- No smurfing or account sharing.
- Violations may result in disqualification or bans.
Communication
- Players must be able to communicate in English.
- No outside assistance: players may not communicate with others during their games to receive help, including strategy, scouting, or match information.
Fair Play & Integrity
- No cheating of any kind (collusion, ghosting, exploits, or third-party tools).
- No griefing, harassment, or toxic behavior.
- Players must complete all scheduled games and play every match to the best of their ability.
- Intentionally losing a match, any other match manipulation, or refusing to play may result in disqualification, forfeiture of points or prizes, and possible bans.
- This does not include tactical decisions within a game (e.g., tactically losing one round for a carousel advantage), but applies strictly to the outcome of the overall match.
- Players are expected to cooperate to ensure tournaments run smoothly and avoid unnecessary delays.
Competitive Integrity & Technical Rules
Bugs / Exploits
- Exploiting bugs, unintended mechanics, or game-breaking features (e.g., specific units, augments) is forbidden.
- If a major exploit is discovered, it may be banned mid-event. Changes apply only to new rounds of Gauntlet, not already in-progress games.
- Match outcomes are final once reported; isolated bugs or crashes will not overturn results.
- Only major systemic issues (e.g., server-wide failures or widespread exploits) may trigger Council intervention.
Client Updates
- New content may be added during the season.
- To ensure stability, client updates are generally not scheduled within 7 days of an IPL 1000 tournament or the World Finals.
Disconnect Policy
- Early Crashes (Rounds 1–3)
- If a player disconnects within the first 3 rounds of a match, they may request a remake.
- Each player may only request one remake per tournament.
- A maximum of three remakes per match may be granted in total.
- Mid/Late Crashes (After Round 3)
- If a player disconnects after round 3, the game will continue without interruption.
- The disconnected player’s placement will stand as recorded in-game.
- Exceptions
- Tournament Admins may, at their discretion, allow a remake in special cases (e.g., failure to connect at the start of a match, or during the Grand Finals).
- Exceptions are rare and will only be granted in specific edge cases.
- Note
- Overall, the goal here is to be lenient and give players the benefit of the doubt. Admins will have the final say, and no restart is guaranteed. Admins will also monitor restart behavior to identify griefing attempts.
Penalties - ⚖️ IPL Code of Conduct – Punishment Guidelines
- Violations may result in:
- Warnings
- Loss of prizes or IPL Points
- Match/game forfeits
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent bans
- Penalties are issued at the discretion of the tournament organizers and Illuvium Labs.
- Sanctions may be disputed after the tournament has concluded, but will not delay the event in progress.
- Multiple warnings may accumulate and lead to disqualification or long-term bans.
Rule Updates
- All rules and structures are subject to change as the IPL 2025 evolves.
- Updates will be reasonable, carefully considered, and communicated via official Illuvium outlets.
- Rules may be updated mid-event only if required to preserve fairness and competitive integrity.
