Welcome to the Illuvium: Zero FAQ — your resource for everything related to land building, fuel production, and resource management within the Illuvium universe.
Here, you’ll find clear answers about gameplay, land, updates, and how Illuvium: Zero connects with the larger franchise.
Illuvium: Zero is a mobile and desktop city-builder set within the Illuvium universe.
Players construct and upgrade structures on their land, produce valuable resources, and expand their industrial network to support the wider Illuvium colony.
Illuvium: Zero is available on the Epic Games Store for PC and Mac, and can also be downloaded on mobile via the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
Progress is synced through your Illuvium account, so you can switch between desktop and mobile anytime.
Your goal is to develop and optimize your land — building structures that produce resources, manage energy and storage, and balance production to maximize efficiency.
Players can also research Illuvial Biodata to uncover facts & blueprints that help their colony better understand and adapt to the environment.
Illuvium: Zero acts as a companion experience to the wider Illuvium universe.
Land Owners produce valuable resources and fuels that help power the broader Illuvium ecosystem — supporting other players, known as Rangers, as they explore and expand the shared world.
By contributing these resources to the wider colony, Land Owners can earn a share of the revenue generated by the Illuvium economy, reflecting their role in sustaining the universe’s growth and interconnection between games.
Yes. You can experience Illuvium: Zero as a free-to-play player using a Simulation Plot.
This gives you the opportunity to explore the gameplay loop, learn the mechanics, and experiment with building strategies before becoming an Illuvium Landholder.
Simulation Plots are for exploration and learning — they do not participate in the revenue-sharing aspect available to owned Land.
Land comes in several tiers, each with unique resource deposits, landmarks, and production potential.
Higher-tier plots offer greater resource output and efficiency, while lower-tier plots are ideal for learning the fundamentals and starting your journey.
There are currently 20,000 Land plots in existence, out of a planned maximum of 100,000 total plots.
No additional Land sales are currently planned.
In Illuvium: Zero, players develop their Land by constructing and upgrading buildings that extract and process valuable resources.
Each building type serves a specific purpose — from mining and refining to energy and storage management — and can be upgraded to improve efficiency and output over time.
Balancing your energy, storage, and production capacity is essential to maintaining a stable and efficient colony.
Strategic building placement also affects performance, so thoughtful layout design can significantly improve your overall yield.
Your ultimate goal is to produce and send raw Fuels — Crypton, Hyperion, and Solon — to the Illuvium Colony, where they are refined into Fuel, the cornerstone of the Illuvium economy.
Fuel serves as the in-game currency used across the entire Illuvium ecosystem, linking Illuvium: Zero to the broader universe of games.
Blueprints are research discoveries that allow players to participate in the creation of cosmetic items, such as Skins, that connect to the wider Illuvium universe.
By scanning Illuvials through Illuvial Biodata research, players collect data that can unlock unique Blueprints.
This Blueprint Loop — scanning, researching, and crafting — adds an extra layer of progression and creativity to Illuvium: Zero, while strengthening its connection to the broader Illuvium ecosystem of games.
Illuvium: Zero continues to receive minor updates and performance improvements while the main development team focuses on expanding Illuvium: Overworld into a full MMO experience.
