Illuvium Staking V3 marks the next evolution of the Illuvium ecosystem. A complete upgrade to the staking experience, rebuilt on Base for speed and efficiency.

This upgrade introduces a dual-rewards system, predictable seasonal structure and bonus multipliers. Whether you’re an OG staker or a newcomer joining us on Base, Staking V3 is designed to reward your loyalty, your commitment and your participation more fairly than ever before.

Why Move to Base?

The migration from Ethereum to Base brings:

• Substantially lower gas fees
• Faster and more reliable interactions
• Improved UX for depositing, withdrawing, and compounding
• A future-proof foundation for long-term growth

It also enables a more flexible reward system built around Shards, Seasons, Multipliers, and Leaderboards. All managed with a robust off-chain architecture.

A New Dual-Reward System

Staking V3 introduces two distinct forms of rewards:

1. Revenue Distribution

Direct ILV rewards generated from Illuvium's RevDis protocol triggered every time 150 ETH revenue is generated.

Revenue Distribution will resume once the Safety Pool is fully funded according to ICCP-22.

2. Shards

Shards serve as seasonal loyalty points earned daily based on:

• Vault type
• Staked amount
• Lock duration
• Multipliers

These shards feed into seasonal leaderboards, where each season maintains independent shard calculations, leaderboards and mechanics configurations. Details about the shards will be revealed at a later time.

Shards distributed during Season 1 will represent 15% of the total Shard Supply.

Two Vaults, Two Reward Paths

Stakers can choose between:

Shards Multipliers

Lock Multiplier

Users can lock their tokens anywhere from 30 to 365 days, earning a linear reward multiplier from 1x to 2x.

• Longer locks = higher multipliers
• Multiplier stays fixed for the entire lock duration
• Ideal for long-term holders who want to maximise Shard gains

OG Boost Multiplier

To honour early supporters, Staking V3 introduces the OG Boost, a tenure-based reward multiplier from 1x to 2x.

Your multiplier is determined by your weighted staking history from Illuvium V1/V2 on Ethereum.

The OG Boost Multiplier lasts 120 days from the Staking V3 launch.

Total Multiplier

Up to a maximum of 3x.

This means:

• New users can reach up to 2x Shard rewards
• Legacy users can push rewards to the full 3x potential

Seasonal Structure & Emission Decay

Staking V3 operates in six-month seasons.

Each season includes:

• Its own shard calculations
• Its own leaderboard
• Its own reward configuration

Shard emissions decrease by 2.97% every Monday, encouraging early participation and creating a predictable, time-based reward curve. Users staking early, benefit from higher emissions, while later weeks gradually reduce output.

How Shards Are Calculated

For every wallet, every day, shards are calculated using:

ILV Bridge

ILV is available for purchase natively on Base with Aerodrome. 

Migration from Ethereum to Base is handled by the LayerZero-powered ILV Bridge, allowing for a seamless migration:

• Secure, trustless ILV transfers
• Smooth onboarding for legacy stakers

The bridge serves as the connective tissue unifying legacy systems with the new Base-native architecture.
