Gameplay & System Updates
Bonding System
Strategic synergy management is now at your fingertips!
It’s been a while, but the Bonding system is back! Simply hold an Illuvial over your Ranger for a few seconds to create a bond, granting your Ranger access to that Illuvial's base synergies.
Key Features:
- Composite Synergy Mastery:
- Bonding is now the primary method for unlocking Composite Synergies.
- Your bonded Illuvial's base synergies will combine with your Round 4 weapon selection to give the Ranger access to Composite Synergies.
- Dynamic Flexibility:
- Change bonds at any time during placement phases by holding a different Illuvial over your Ranger
- Bonding removal:
- Bonds are automatically removed when you sell an Illuvial or move it to the Bench
- Make sure to bond the Ranger with another Illuvial when you sell or bench the currently bonded Illuvial!
With this new approach to Composite Synergies, it's easier than ever to experiment with new team compositions. Time to theorycraft!

- Which Illuvial am I bonded to? Well, right-click your ranger and inspect which Illuvial you are bonded with.

Weapon & Suit Amplifiers
Equipment management has been completely reimagined for a smoother gameplay.
Say goodbye to hunting for weapons and suits in the shop! The new Amplifier system provides guaranteed progression points throughout each match.
Weapon System:
- Round 4: Choose 1 weapon from 3 randomly selected options
- Rounds 11 & 18: Select Weapon Amplifiers (1 of 3 choices) that provide direct buffs to your weapon or Ranger stats
- Each weapon offers unique amplifier options, ensuring diverse strategic paths
Suit System:
- Round 14: Choose 1 Suit Amplifier from 3 options
- Suit Amplifiers provide powerful buffs to your Ranger or entire team
- 15 total Suit Amplifiers available - experiment with them all!
This overhaul eliminates RNG frustration from equipment acquisition, letting you focus entirely on Illuvial strategy and team building.
Take a closer look at the details by hovering over the suit aplifiers to better understand your options! Once chosen, you can also click on the chosen weapons, or amplifiers, but right-clicking on the weapon or amplifier above your ranger.

Draft Deck
The Draft Deck returns, refined and improved based on your feedback.
After last month's Draft Deck preview, we've finalised the feature and implemented significant improvements to create a smoother, more intuitive experience. As for all features, we already have more polish planned in the pipeline.
What's New:
- Enhanced Perspective: Zoomed out view for better situational awareness
- Improved Drone Control: Slower, more responsive drone movement
- Smoother Navigation: Refined drone movement mechanics
- Better Visual Guidance: Additional effects to help players navigate the experience
- Optimized Release System: Improved formula for player release timing
How It Works:
Draft Deck activates on Rounds 8, 15, 22, and 29, transporting all players to a special Board. Illuvials with attached Augments move and teleport around the central area. Players are released in order of current health (lowest to highest) and select from the available rotating Illuvials.
Note: This is just the beginning - we have many more Draft Deck improvements planned for future updates!
Bug Fixes & Other Improvements
Like in previous patches we’ve dedicated significant time to improving the overall gameplay experience through a wide range of fixes, UI enhancements, and quality-of-life changes. Below is a detailed breakdown of what’s been addressed and added in this update:

- Augment selection is now deferred when a Suit, Weapon, Drone Augment, or Carousel round begins — preventing auto-selection.
- Prevented Augments from being applied to Legendary Crates.
- Added a 1-second delay before a selection can be made during Suit, Weapon, and Drone Augment rounds to reduce misclicks.
User Interface & Visual Enhancements:
- UI & UX Improvements:

- Improved Arena mix (still focused on the Fight rounds)
- Omega SFXs updated for Tiktaalik and Elk
- SFX - Bug Fixes:

- Removed the Bonding tooltip that was incorrectly displaying during Carousel and Spectator mode.
Leviathan Mode
- Fixed a Leviathan stat boost issue affecting Illuvials.

Miscellaneous Improvements
- Fixed an issue where Illuvials would disappear when spectating a player before the round began.
- Resolved a bug where the Ranger could become invisible after dying in the Overworld.
Ranked Reward Requirements & Resets
We’re updating the Gauntlet Ranked Rewards and Rating system:
- The Minimum Weekly Games required for reward eligibility have been reduced from 15 to 5.
- Following the following snapshot, a Hard Reset will be applied to all players, setting everyone’s rating to 1200 on Thursday, June 5th at 00:00 UTC.
- Starting Thursday, June 12th at 00:00 UTC, we’ll introduce weekly Soft Resets. These will slightly reduce the rating gap between players at the top and bottom of the leaderboard to keep competition fresh and balanced.
Soft Reset Formula: New Rating = 1200 + (Current Rating - 1200) × 0.6
Examples:
- 800 Rating: New Rating = 1200 + (-400 × 0.6) = 960
- 2500 Rating: New Rating = 1200 + (1300 × 0.6) = 1980
