Stake ILV on the Base network

Step-by-step guide how to stake your ILV in the V3 contract

Staking V3 is on the Base network. To stake your ILV in either of the Vaults (ILV or ILV/ETH), you will need to bridge your funds to Base.

Here is a quick overview of the staking process:

  1. ILV Vault: Bridge ETH Bridge ILV Stake Earn rewards
  2. ILV/ETH Vault: Bridge ETH Bridge ILV Add Liquidity Stake Earn rewards

Before you start

When staking in the V3 contract, you are rewarded in two ways:

  1. Revenue Distribution
  2. Shards

You can stake in two different Vaults, ILV and ILV/ETH. You can also boost your rewards (up to 3x) by setting a lock period on your stake and having a history of staking on our V1 and V2 contracts (OG Boost).

Here is some key information before you start with the process:

Guide

Step 1: Bridge your funds

You will need both ILV and ETH bridged to the Base network. For the ILV token, Illuvium provides its own bridge. For ETH, we will use a third-party bridge recommended by the Base developers. You may use alternative methods if you prefer. Some exchanges allow direct withdrawals to Base if you plan to fund your wallet from an exchange.

ETH Amount to Bridge

ILV

We recommend bridging around $1–$5 worth of ETH. Each transaction costs only a few cents in network fees, so this amount should cover your future transactions (e.g., unstaking).

ILV/ETH

Send the same dollar value of ETH as the ILV you plan to stake. For example, if you have $1,000 worth of ILV, you should send $1,000 worth of ETH (plus an additional $1–$5 for network fees).

Step 1A: Bridge ETH

1

Navigate to the Superbridge App.

  • Superbridge.app
2

Click the Connect button in the top right corner.

002
3

From the list of wallets, choose the one that holds your funds. Make sure it is unlocked.

003
4

In the pop-up from your wallet, click Connect, then Confirm.

004
5

After your wallet is connected, enter the amount of ETH you want to deposit. Additional options will appear below — select one of them.

005
6

On the Review page, click Continue, then Start.

7

A new pop-up from your wallet will appear. Click Confirm to approve the transaction.

007
8

Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, your ETH will be ready for the next step. You can now move to Step 1.

Note: Depending on network conditions, the process may take 5–10 minutes.

Step 1B: Bridge ILV

1

Navigate to the Illuvium Bridge.

2

Click Connect in the top right corner. Make sure your wallet is unlocked.

3

In the pop-up from your wallet, confirm the connection.

003 1
4

Once connected, set the amount of ILV you want to bridge and click Approve & Transfer.

004 2
5

You will now see two pop-ups from your wallet:

  • Spending cap request – This allows the Bridge to interact with your ILV tokens.
  • Bridging transaction – This will send your tokens to the Bridge.

Note: Depending on network conditions, the process may take 5–10 minutes.

Now that you have bridged ILV and ETH, you can proceed to the next step based on the vault you want to stake in.

  • Step 2 - If you want to stake in the ILV/ETH Vault
  • Step 3 - If you want to stake in the ILV Vault

Step 2: Get LP tokens (only for ILV/ETH Vault)

To stake in the ILV/ETH Vault, you need to add liquidity to the ILV/ETH pool. This means exchanging an equal dollar value of ILV and ETH (50:50 USD ratio) into LP tokens. These are the tokens you'll be staking on the platform.

1

Navigate to Aerodrome, our liquidity provider on the Base network. Here, we will swap ILV and ETH into LP tokens used on the Illuvium staking page.

2

Click on Browser Wallet and confirm the connection in your wallet.

The app will automatically detect the tokens you bridged in Step 1. Enter the amount of ILV you want to stake; the ETH amount will adjust automatically to match the ILV value in USD. (Make sure you keep enough ETH to pay the transaction fees for the next steps.)

Step 3: Add Your OG Wallets

If you previously staked in the v1 and/or v2 staking contracts, you may be eligible to receive an extra multiplier on your staking positions (based on how long you staked before, up to a maximum of 2.0x).

You can add your OG wallet (or multiple wallets as the tenure adds up) by following the steps below:

1

Navigate to our Staking page.

2

Click on the “Claim now” link in the My OG Boosts section.

002 3
3

In the pop-up, click “Link New Wallet”, then confirm the connection in your current wallet.

Once connected, switch in your wallet extension to the OG wallet address that you want to add.

Step 4: Stake Your Funds

For both the ILV and ILV/ETH vaults, this step looks exactly the same, so we will use the ILV Vault as an example.

1

Navigate to our Staking page.

2

Your wallet should already be connected from the previous step; if not, click the Connect button in the top-right corner and reconnect your wallet.

3

Click “Create a New Stake.”

003 2
4

Set up your stake:

  • Choose your Vault - Select either the ILV or ILV/ETH vault.
  • Set the Token Amount - Enter the number of tokens you want to stake.
  • Set the Lock Duration - Choose a lock period ranging from 1–12 months (click Custom if you want a specific number of days).
004 3
5

Review all settings, and click Continue.

Note: If you have an OG Multiplier, it will not show here. It will appear under your staked position after staking.

005 2
6

You will now receive two pop-ups from your wallet:

  • Spending cap request – Allows the Staking V3 contract to interact with your ILV tokens.
  • Staking transaction – Sends your tokens to the Staking V3 contract.

Note: It may take 5–15 minutes for the transaction to be confirmed on the blockchain.

After a few minutes, your new Staking V3 position will appear in the “My Stakes” section. From now on, you can log in to check how many Shards you’ve earned.

Note: The shard balance updates once a day at 00:00 UTC.
